Important Heatwave Update: Thursday 25th & Friday 26th June - Both Sites
Due to the ongoing Red Alert heatwave, Castle Hill Primary School is facing challenging conditions. While both campuses remain open, provision will be modified to focus on safety and well-being rather than the normal curriculum.

Key Actions for Parents

  • Keep Children Home if Possible: We strongly advise families to consider keeping children at home on Thursday and Friday if they can make alternative arrangements (especially for the Rooksdown campus, which is experiencing severe indoor temperatures).
  • If your child is not coming to school on Thursday and/or Friday, please report your absence by sending an email to admin@chjs.net stating your child's name and class
  • If your child is not coming into school, please cancel your child's meal on ScoPay before midnight tonight
  • Early Collection Option: For children attending school, an early collection time is available at 12:00 midday before temperatures peak.
  • Transition Morning (Friday 26th): This is currently under review. A final decision will be shared tomorrow and may differ by campus.
  • If you have no alternative childcare, the school remains open to support you until 15:15.
  • Please liaise directly with any external club providers/wraparound care if your child will not be in attendance

All internally run clubs have been cancelled.

Thank you for your continued understanding.
