It is with deepest regret that Fundraising Friends have to re-arrange the Castle Hill School Summer Disco on Thursday 9th July.
In line with the school's Hot Weather and Extreme Heat Policy (which was sent out last week), it is inadvisable to hold such an event in the forecasted temperatures. The Policy states that for temperatures over 28C, Performances and After-School Clubs should be cancelled or amended. As those of you who have volunteered during a disco will confirm, even in the coldest winter discos the heat in the hall becomes unbearable with all the children enthusiastically enjoying the event. With temperatures forecasted to reach 33C on Thursday, we cannot risk the health and wellbeing of the children, staff and volunteers.
We will refund all purchased tickets for this event, whilst we agree a new date with the school, likely to be in early September. We will then re-advertise this disco as a 'welcome back to school!' event and re-open booking. Please allow until the end of the week (Friday 10th July) for refunds to appear in your bank, if after this date you have not received your refund please contact us.
We aim to have the new event live and ready for booking by the end of this school year.
We apologise for any disappointment, but as always, we have to put the safety of the children first and hope you understand.
Kind regards,
Fundraising Friends Rooksdown
