Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play in safeguarding children.

School staff are particularly important as they are in a prime position to identify concerns early on and provide help for children often preventing concerns from escalating.  Schools and their staff form part of the wider safeguarding system for children, and work with social care, the police, health services and other services to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm.  The head teacher, teachers and support staff safeguard children's well-being as part of their professional duties.

At Castle Hill Primary School, there are seven members of staff with a designated safeguarding role, they are referred to as our DSLs.

Ms R Willmouth -  Designated Safeguarding Lead
Mrs T Lund - Deputy DSL
Mrs  C Thomas - Deputy DSL
Miss N Harding - Deputy DSL
Mirs A Barker - Deputy DSL
Mrs C Mundee - Deputy DSL

Mr G Train - Governor Safeguarding Lead

The DSLs provide support to staff members to carry out their safeguarding duties, and they will liaise closely with other services such as children’s social care.
